SLT’s carbon fiber and stainless steel drag has been sealed into a “bombproof” package you can count on when chasing fish that require the very best.

The Bauer SLT fly reel was born out of four years of prototyping, each iteration honed by real-world experiences until arriving at optimal performance, usability and design. Your new Bauer SLT reel will exceed performance expectations regardless of the environment you use it in.

The SLT reels drag is powered by a cutting edge alternating stainless steel and carbon disc stack that effectively disperses heat and facilitates ultra-smooth engagement when fighting the world's most powerful fish. An oversized low durometer rubber o-ring ( and this thing is big) provides a consistency throughout the drag adjustment range, allowing for even resistance with every click of the drag knob. The drag is linear with every click allowing anglers to dial in their settings for the perfect amount of resistance. Additionally the new drag stack features a high and low end hard stop, preventing over tightening and free spooling.

Bauer SLT reels are engineered for ease. Utilizing a threaded hub for easy on/off access to the drag system. The re-designed clutch is labeled for left/right hand retrieve, providing anglers with fast and easy change without the use of tools. All internal componentry has been made larger for easy handling, tighter tolerances, and is made to take higher heat and torque that comes with fishing for tarpon, giant trevally, and arapaima.

Not only is the SLT fly reel fully sealed but all internal parts are Type II anodized with 6061 aluminum, 7075 aluminum and stainless steel.

The Bauer SLT features an enlarged drag knob, an aluminum handle, narrow spool design and low profile counter balance all rolled into a beautiful and super reliable fly reel. An ultra large arbor, beautiful machining and dual anodization make the SLT one of the best looking reels on the market.
