The Evolution R is built with Type II anodized 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, and all models are less than 5.2 ounces. All internal components are machined stainless steel making the reel durable, strong, and dependable from the biggest details to the smallest parts. Even the handle is a canvas phenolic rod resting on a 7075-T6 chromated aluminum post. This grip remains tacky even when soaking wet. This reel is designed for use in all conditions, freshwater and saltwater, as well as across all temperature ranges.

The drag system is a carbon fiber, stainless steel disc stack with an industry leading power-to-weight ratio. It is a fully sealed system.
