The NYAP Popper is our absolute favorite popper to tie and fish. The "Not Your Average Popper" gives incredible popping action, is super durable and is super easy to cast.
The NYAP is pre-formed so all you need to do is tie on a flashy and stiff tail and glue on the NYAP and done. Packs 6/0 and 8/0 contain 4 NYAP's and 2/0 contains 6 NYAP's with eyes and painted red front.
This popper is the go to for Giant Trevally, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Grouper, Snapper, and many other large pelagic species. The painted head comes with eyes already glued on. Very quick, effective and easy fly. The key to making this popper work is leaving enough hook as a keel below the foam. We like larger hooks with large gaps like the Ahrex SA280 and Gamakatsu SL12S. Use the size of the popper as your hook size and don't be afraid of an 8/0, these are super easy to cast regardless of size.
