Leech Leather is perfect for tails on mice patterns, tails and bodies on leech streamer patterns and more. One of the most effective bass flies we have ever used for smallmouth was a black Leech Leather pattern that wasn't much more than the leather tail, a dubbed black body and beadchain eyes, fish simply crushed the fly until it wore out. It took some time to! We are seeing quite few balanced Leech patterns with Leech Leather tails, they flutters when suspended in still water.
