Here at The Caddis Fly Shop, one of the things we love about Hatch Outdoors is the company has kept the same basic reel platform w/ iterations through their 15-year history! Hatch keeps features they know work (like one-piece frame/reel seat) while updating features through trial-and-error, dealer feedback and customers Hatch knows can get better in the search of perfection in a fly reel.

2021 will see Hatch Outdoors latest and greatest with the launch of the Iconic reel. Hatch Outdoors new Iconic reels see some major changes compared to previous models that include: Finatic Gen2, Finatic and the now collectible older Pulse, Monsoon, Typhoon, Cyclone and Squall. **Not None of the new Hatch Outdoors Iconic reels/spools are backwards compatible with previous generation reels**

Hatch Outdoors Iconic Reel: Updates

1. New Look/Styling: Hatch retains their Iconic look w/ Hatch logo drag knob and porting pattern w/ 6 fins on all frames/spools. All reel sizes see an updated drag knob, larger 1-piece spool nuts, re-shaped contemporary reel foot, bright dip finishing process on top of Hatch Outdoors matte anodizing color ways, updated reel handle/counterweight.

2. New Spool Design: Hatch has ported the spool arbor for the 1st time for better ventilation allowing backing/fly lines to dry better after each use.

3. Large Arbor v. Mid Arbor: Hatch Large Arbor means less capacity/high retrieve rate. Hatch Mid Arbor means more capacity/high retrieve rate. New Iconic Mid Arbor features an extra row of porting dots beneath the ÒIconicÓ fins making it simple to distinguish between Mid Arbor/ Large Arbor Hatch Iconic fly reels.

4. Inside the new Hatch Iconic: Improved Sealing through design via eliminating water entry points by through subtracting superfluous components seen in past models. Improved Stability as Hatch Iconic drag no longer utilizes a separate cassette to house the drag mechanism. The drag stack is now built directly into the body of the frame resulting in a tidier, more stable and solid design. New Drag Material a carbon filled drag material not only dissipates heat faster but has a smoother start-up at all drag settings. All Iconic models feature stronger drag at the top end than previous models.
