Gamakatsu T10-6H Turned up, tapered, loop eye
For all you Gammie aficionados, this is your winter and summer steelhead go-to hook. The Gamakatsu T10-6H hook has a graceful turned-up, tapered, loop eye that is most reminiscent of the TMC 7999 family of hooks. The Gamakatsu T10-6H is an excellent hook for tying many of our salmon, steelhead and large trout flies. We find the wire a little lighter than wire on the TMC 7999 and heavier than wire on the TMC 7978. We have hooks available in black, red, and green _ fun for our summer steelhead flies. Gamakatsu T10-6H hooks have particularly low, fine barbs. If tying flies specifically intended to sink deeper or more quickly, we would choose a TMC 7999 or a Daiichi 2441 hook over the Gamakatsu T10-6H.
