We stock the SC15 Saltwater Hook in sizes from 2/0 down to #4. As with all Gamakatsu hooks, only the hook designer really understands the most technical aspects of labeling hook sizes. At any rate, we find the Gamakatsu SC15 very useful for both freshwater and saltwater applications. Here is an example. A size 4 SC15 makes a great steelhead egg pattern fly hook. A size 1 or 2 SC15 makes a great tube fly hook for our tube Intruder and Marabou Tube flies. If we go back to the flats: a Gamakatsu SC15 in sizes 2 and 4 make very nice hook foundation for shrimp, crab, and Clouser like flies. The SC15 in a 1/0 and 2/0 make great flies for smallish Tarpon. This is what we would refer to as a light wire hook, but it is a tough hook. The Gamakatsu SC15 is sharp and has a ring eye and saltwater finish.
